Teaching Endorsements:

Vocational Family & Consumer Science, Health, General Science, Media Generalist

Teaching Experience:
I have taught Family & Consumer Science and Health for 22 years. I have taught at Boise High School, Mt. Cove Alternative High School, Meridian Academy, and Eagle Middle School. I have taught overseas two times, once in The Netherlands and most recently in Japan. I have been a school librarian for the past two years. Currently I am the librarian for all 5 alternative schools in the Meridian School District. I love my job!

About Me

I am lots of things to lots of people! I am a mother, wife, friend, teacher, and librarian. I love all of my roles in life. I have one daughter, Greta, who attends University of Montana. My husband, Tom is also a teacher in the Meridian School District.
I don’t like to sit still. I’m a runner, sea kayaker, mountain biker, reader , gardener and a cook. I also love to sew and create wild and fun things. Our family has lived overseas twice, once in Holland and recently in Japan. We love to travel. We have traveled by foot, bicycle, kayak, skis, trains and once even by elephant! I have always wanted to join the Peace Corps. Someday I will !
My professional life and personal life meld together well. I have been lucky to teach about my passions in life: nutrition, cooking parenting, health and reading. For much of my career I have taught in alternative schools. I love the energy of alternative students. It always has been my goal to help each student make good choices. Now, as librarian I can continue to help students make well informed choices. I enjoy sharing my love of reading with students . It is my goal that the students at Central Academy will access information and use it to reach their goals.
