I have been teaching at the Academies for 16 years—not since the beginnings of the school, but pretty close! I began my public teaching career as an ESL teacher for kindergarten and first graders in Dallas, TX. Before that I had been a mom (of 5) and before that I was a drug rehabilitation counselor. I teach part time at Boise State University.
At the Academy I teach English, psychology, and humanities. I have also taught Science Circus and PE.
When I’m not in school teaching, I am playing with my 5-year-old paint mare and my 5 grandchildren. I love reading, hot chocolate with hazelnut creamer, my husband’s chocolate chip cookies, camping, and ice cream (not necessarily in that order). Also a bacon double cheeseburger, large order of fries, and a large Dr. Pepper.
Highlights of classes: Senior Project in the spring; Psychology Fair in the spring.
