Grading:

You will receive an attendance/participation grade every Friday. We only meet once a week and it is important that you be here in body and mind each week. The yearbook depends on your attendance and work ethic while here. You will also receive individual grades for pages completed, as well as other assignments and projects you do. Your grade will be determined by averaging together your assignment, page, and participation grades.  Grades are: A = 90-100%, B = 80-89%, C = 70-79%.  Anything below 70% is considered an IP (a work In Progress) and must be redone, corrected or revised completely to receive a 70%. *Yearbook pages must be completed to 100% perfection.  Late work will lose points (unless you are absent). Page deadlines must be met to receive an “A” in the class. At the end of the semester if your course grade is less than 70%, you will receive an “F” for the class. You will go on Friday Makeup and Study Table if you are missing any work. Be responsible and use your Intervention period to stay caught up & meet deadlines. Try not to miss class—it can be very difficult to catch up. You are a teammate & the success of our yearbook depends on YOU!

Passes: You must have permission from Gaye to leave the room and you must wear your press pass everywhere you go on Yearbook business. Abuse of “press pass privilege” will result in a requirement for separate written passes. Repeated abuse will result in lunch detention and/or discipline referrals. You will receive 8 restroom passes for the semester. Using more than 8 passes will result in lunch detention.

Food: NO food or drink is allowed in the classroom, except for clear water bottles with lids and treats provided by the teacher.

Tardies: To be on-time, your whole body must be in the room (without food) when the bell stops ringing.

There are 4 things you need to do to make this class successful:

1.      Stay on task at all times.

2.      Work together.

3.      Respect all people and property.

4.      Act responsibly at all times.

Let’s learn a lot, have fun, and make this the best yearbook ever!
