Goals: The goals of Physical Education at Central Academy are to improve student fitness, teach the value of being fit and encourage participation in lifetime activities.
Philosophy: To provide a variety of instructional activities with carry over value for lifetime fitness. The main emphasis of this program is on personal health and fitness.
Activities: A wide variety of activities will be offered; individual and team sports, outdoor recreational sports and various fitness activities. Some of the activities may include:
Ultimate Frisbee Basketball Lacrosse Soccer Softball
Floor Hockey Volleyball Frisbee Golf Fitness Badminton
Grading: Grades will be based upon each individual’s participation, attitude, sportsmanship, skill improvement, tests and attendance. Each day a student can earn a maximum of 10 points. It is up to the student to “keep” those points.
Scale: Participation/Attendance/Dress = 60%
Tests (Skill, Written, Fitness) = 25%
Final Fitness Evaluation/Test = 15%
