What a Career Counselor can do for students….
Career Counselors help students gain an awareness of
themselves and how they will relate to the world of
work. The following are some of the services that
Central Academy’s Career Counselor can provide:
Help students compare and contrast colleges
Assist students with occupation exploration through interest inventories
Help students identity career options
Solidify job search goals
Help individuals understand the influence of a positive self-concept on career development
Expose students to a wide variety of information to include military options, financial aid, scholarship information, leadership opportunities, occupational computer systems and important websites.
Provide evening assistance filling out the FAFSA form
In the fall of each year I meet individually with seniors and have them fill out an individualized education/occupation plan. I also meet with the juniors in the spring and have them fill out a survey pertaining to post high school goals.
